Gerald Genta was a legendary Swiss watch designer, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the luxury watch industry. Born in 1931, Genta became famous for his distinctive and innovative designs, with some of his most iconic works including the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (1972), the Patek Philippe Nautilus (1976), and notable pieces like the Polerouter and IWC Ingenieur. In the 1980s, he launched his own brand, Gerald Genta, where he continued to push the boundaries of design. Over his lifetime, Genta created more than 100,000 watches for some of the world’s most prestigious brands. He passed away in August 2011 at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of groundbreaking watch design.
